Le cas d’Arc-en-Ciel

FR : Cet article entend saisir les formes et les enjeux de l’engagement habitant au sein du projet de logement collectif Arc-en-Ciel du Community Land Trust Brussels (CLTB). L’enquête ethnographique consécutive à la fin du programme d’accompagnement du projet par le CLTB met en évidence l’importance des préoccupations matérielles dans le quotidien des habitant·e·s. Ces dernier·ère·s s’y engagent de façon variable, de la prise de parole publique aux engagements s’exprimant davantage par le registre de l’action. L’article souligne la façon dont le décalage d’intensité de ces engagements peut devenir source de tension, révélant l’équilibre complexe entre les intérêts individuels et collectifs que suppose un projet CLTB.

EN: This article explores the forms and challenges of residents’ engagement in the collective housing project Arc-en-Ciel of the Community Land Trust Brussels (CLTB). Based on an ethnographic survey following the end of the CLTB’s support program, the study highlights the importance of material preoccupations in the daily lives of residents. Inhabitants engage in these issues in varying ways, from public deliberation to concrete modes of action. The article shows how the different scales of engagement can become a source of tension, revealing the complex balance between individual and collective interests implied by a CLTB project.
